Originally from a small crossroads outside Gothenburg, Sweden, Laban began his freelance career in 2021 at the age of sixteen. Starting as a one-man band, he’s developed everything from documentaries and commercials to corporate videos.
By day, he works as a Communications Assistant. By night (and often day too), he blends punchy, internet-era editing with the structure of classic corporate film to craft stories that stick—and sell. With a strong passion for documentary filmmaking, he aims to uncover the intricate moments of everyday life and give voice to the ordinary.
In 2022, Laban spent time working as an editor with Johfors Productions, a film and advertising firm based in Borås. Teaming up with athlete Joel Rydell, he co-created the feature-length documentary Fallet Upp, which premiered on PlutoTV in 2023.
He won the UF Älvsborg Best Commercial Award in 2024 for DeltaCell – För ett hållbart elnät.
